The bottleneck is never the market.

It’s what happens between permit approval and first shovel in the ground.

Every week I see the same pattern:

Projects approved. Budgets allocated. Teams in place.

And still — delays, cost overruns, handover failures.

Here’s where projects actually lose time:

→ Pre-construction planning treated as a formality, not a phase
→ RFIs managed by email, answered in days instead of hours
→ PCOs living in separate spreadsheets, disconnected from the budget
→ Schedule updates done reactively, after the problem — not before
→ Asset handover documented at the end, instead of tracked from day zero

None of this is a technology problem.

Most sites already have the tools.

What’s missing is the discipline to connect them.

$166 billion in Alberta projects are in the pipeline right now.

The contractors who will win that work aren’t the ones with the best software.

They’re the ones who show up with a process that holds under pressure.

If Canada wants 5 million homes, it doesn’t need more demand.

It needs more PMs who treat execution as a system — not a reaction.
